Purple and Silver Wedding Inspiration: Room 1520

Thanks to Cristina G Photography for this Inspiration Board from Lea and Beau’s wedding at Room 1520!  We loved creating the “glam” theme for this couple! The eggplant purple, sliver and gray color palette was perfect for the space and a Fall wedding.  More pics to come – but for now…please enjoy some of the “best” from that day!

Brooklyn themed Cincy wedding

I am so happy to share this post with you today.  I recently had the pleasure of being the Event Designer for this Brooklyn themed wedding in Cincinnati.  From the first time I met Jenny and Scott, we instantly clicked! Working with this couple really could not be considered “work.”  They have such an electric and contagious energy about them, that  you just can’t help but smile (or laugh :D) when you are around them!

Back in April, we all met in Cincinnati for some serious planning.  With the couple based in Brooklyn, and me in Chicago – we had a lot of ground to cover! This photo really captures their spunk and spontaneity during our walk through at The Freedom Center.

I typically don’t stray from my native and familiar territory of downtown Chicago, but as friends of a friend, I made and exception.  Not only were Jenny and Scott so fun to work with and easy-going, I had the opportunity to meet new people and awesome vendors along the way.

This one was so fun to design because of the theme they chose.  Scott proposed under the Brooklyn Bridge, so naturally they wanted their guests in Cincinnati (where the bride is from) to experience a bit of city they call home!  Just so happens that there is a bridge in Cincinnati that was built by the same architect who built the Brooklyn Bridge. Let’s just say that it is the “little brother” to the iconic bridge in New York.  Also, just so happens that Cincinnati’s Freedom Center Museum overlooks this bridge.  The perfect place to hold Jenny and Scott’s Brooklyn-themed wedding!

Now onto the wedding!  September 24, 2011 turned out to be the most perfect fall day!  Early showers and clouds cleared to make room for the sun, just in time for some great photos! 🙂

Graffiti walls were the perfect compliment to the Brooklyn theme!

The flowers were beautiful! We pretty much hand selected each bloom to go with the theme, color scheme and season. Anemones, dahlias, dusty miller, lisianthus, orchids and delphinium — just to name a few.  The Secret Garden of Florence, KY did an amazing job implementing our vision!

Instead of putting a menu at every place setting, we decided to frame a menu and feature it on the escort card table.

And a gift to my clients… (the dessert forks – not the rings! duh!)

“Help yourself to a slice of Brooklyn”  The bride and groom had Junior’s Cheesecake shipped in from New York for dessert!

The best part about my job is seeing the smiles on my bride and groom’s faces. The heart-felt thank you at the end of the night and those words of sincere gratitude!  That is why I do what I do!
